Free Workshops in Waukesha County Teach Eco-Friendly Methods
(WAUKESHA, WI) – Waukesha County Department of Parks and Land Use - Land Resources staff are offering free public workshops and presentations in March.
Green Cleaning Workshop: We strive to keep our homes & workplaces healthy by using chemicals that are toxic. Is there another way? Find out what common household ingredients can be used to keep your home healthy, clean, and safe. Find out what really works and which products on the market pass as “green.” Attendees will “Make & Take” a Creamy Soft Scrub to try at home!
The Value of Rain Gardens and Rain Barrels: Rain barrels have been used for many generations. Discover how they can actually help restore a more natural water flow while saving you money. Not only will we explore how to install rain barrels, we will learn about rain gardens, too! Rain gardens and rain barrels can be a beautiful solution to water pollution.
Sewerology 101: Discover where you water comes from, where it goes when you are finished with it, and the difference between storm sewers and sanitary sewers. In this interactive presentation, we will also discuss the Waukesha water issue, find out what a watershed is and what impact you have on our waters – for better or worse. Learn how you can become a positive influence on your watershed!
