More information:
Shipping materials take up valuable space in our landfills. There are no markets available in Wisconsin for polystyrene, so it cannot be recycled. Instead, remember the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” motto. Collect packing materials and reuse them when sending packages.

Some “pack and ship” stores accept packing peanuts for reuse and recycling.

The Plastic Loose Fill Council has a simple search engine to find retailers that accept polystyrene loose fill (or “packing peanuts”) for recycling.

  1. Go to: http://www.loosefillpackaging.com/
  2. Choose Wisconsin from the drop down menu
  3. Enter your City, Zip Code, or Area code
