More information:
Appliances are made of approximately 75% steel by weight. This steel can be easily recycled to provide quality materials to steel mills.

Home cooling appliances (refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioners, dehumidifiers, and water coolers) contain ozone-depleting or global warming substances. These substances include chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydro chlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), hydro fluorocarbons (HFCs), and perfluorocarbons (PFCs). Qualified technicians can recycle refrigerant by removing oil and impurities, or reclaim it by purifying it to original product standards.
